The Womentech Opportunity

Massive, untapped, high potential

The female economy

The global economy runs on decisions made by women. A recent global study by BCG reveals that women

control over $70 trillion of global wealth (~32% share)

are increasing their wealth faster than ever before

will likely control nearly $100 trillion by 2023

Who We Are

Sustainable Development Goal 5, Target 5B: Enhance the use of enabling technology, in particular information and communications technology, to promote the empowerment of women

Technology has been described as a “great leveller” and “powerful enabler”, especially for women. To fully realize this potential, we need to design and adapt technologies to meet the underserved needs of women and girls in every aspect of life - a category that we call "womentech".

Women Prosperity Lab is dedicated to the promotion of womentech. We approach this space with an investor's lens - we back the commercial potential of female focused technologies and help them to scale rapidly by attracting capital and resources.

Ananya Chandra, Founder and CEO

I've made innovation happen bottom up (co-founded healthtech startup Just Move), top down (built Government of India's technology commercialization program) and sideways (headed expansion for venture-backed women's social network, Sheroes).

Along the way, I've been fortunate to have been part of the journey of amazing startups using technology to make large scale impact. I've also worked closely with the "demand side" of innovation (Fortune 500s, government agencies, non profits, etc) to encourage open innovation that emphasizes outcomes.
